Yumla was created by Master Chef, Jack Wong. Jack has worked in various restaurants and takeaways throughout Scotland including Glasgow's New City Palace, Jasmine One and the Quay's China China to name a few. Previous celebrity clientelles included TV presenters Carol Smillie and Dougie Donnelly.
Jack has always been passionate about Chinese food. Today, he focuses all his time and efforts in Yumla, his long dream. Indeed a very successful restaurant group too.
Jack took over China Blossom (Miller Street) on Sunday, 26th September 2004. The restaurant was soon rebranded as Yumla and is today popular with shoppers, students and businesses. Yumla (Miller Street) sits in the heart of the city, of both Argyle Street and Ingram Street, just a minute walk away from George Square. Inside you'll find a large and relaxing atmosphere to dine, drink, and chill.
Yumla opens its second restaurant in October 2009. Located in Bishopbriggs, Yumla Inn brings its offer to the East end of Glasgow. The Colston Road branch has a completely new feel to it. The interior has been refurbished and we think you'll love this one. Give both restaurants a try!
